Hi, my name is Steve Richards-Kretlow, I am one of the Deaf Founder for my new business called Deaf Moose Designs that started in 2025. I am Deaf and one of the survivors in the Lewiston Strong Maine. I was born in Wisconsin, moved to North Carolina when I was five years old. I went to school for the Deaf in Greensboro, then went to mainstream school. My dad was a PE teacher at the school for the Deaf before he took a new job in Physical Therapy. I grew up in NC, graduated, then went to college at RIT in Rochester, NY, graduated with an Associate Degree in Electric Publishing Printing Technology. After graduation, I moved back to NC to work at communication printing company in NC for 5 years, then took a year off as landscaping. Found a new job at Sports Endeavors Corp in NC for 5 years. I met my Deaf wife through a friend that went to the same college, we started dating for one year before I moved to Maine, got married, have kids, living in a small town in a beautiful house with my dog & cat. My wife, Heather Richards Kretlow, grew up all her life in Maine. Maine is a beautiful state that has four seasons that will never get bored with Maine.
I wanted to start a small business as I wanted to share my love with my skills that people will appreciate and come back to order more products and advertise. I wanted to do Deaf Maine business in making many products such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, onesies, and many more to come, to show how much support to our Lewiston Strong survivors, the victims family and the Deaf community for their love and inspire to keep the business going. We also do custom orders, if you have your own ideas of designs for shirts or sweatshirts for your business, feel free to e-mail us at deafmoose@gmail.com. We custom orders for Josh Seal when we hosted the National Deaf Disc Golf Championship summer 2025. And Billy Bracket Memorial Cornhole tournament fall of 2025.
I love moose, they are big, soft heart, and strong, that’s why I chose Deaf Moose Designs as my logo. As you can see the moose in one hand saying I Love You in ASL, and the other hand is throwing a cornhole bag.
Our hearts will never forget Lewiston Strong-Maine Deaf Strong.
